Sectional Ash Tree Removal Using Crane
Beaver Tree Surgeons were recently called to remove a large Ash tree in Bentham, North Yorkshire. The tree was structurally unsound and positioned awkwardly over a road, footpath, and several telephone lines, making it a logistical challenge but not a high-voltage hazard.
To avoid any disruption to local services or traffic, we used a crane to lift out sections of the tree with precision. Working closely with the crane operator, our climber safely dismantled the canopy in manageable pieces, carefully avoiding the overhead telecom lines.

This job required both technical rigging and tight coordination to ensure safe, clean progress without damaging nearby infrastructure or delaying road access.
The removal was completed with minimal disruption to the footpath or telephone lines, and the site was left tidy and clear. A textbook example of safe crane-assisted tree work in a public setting.
Why Use a Crane for Tree Work Like This?
When trees grow over roads, footpaths, or service lines, especially when they’re large or dead, using a crane is often the safest and most efficient solution. It reduces the need for rigging above sensitive areas, speeds up the job, and keeps both workers and the public out of harm’s way.
